Private label manufacturers
Private label means a manufacturer makes a product it already knows how to make, and you sell it under your brand. These are the factories in The Vault that work that way: custom headwear and apparel makers, merch and print on demand, custom packaging and skincare contract manufacturers.

How to choose private label manufacturers
What to look for in a private label manufacturer
Private label is fastest when you change the least. The more you customize (fabric, formula, mold, fit), the closer you get to full custom production, with its minimums and timelines. Be clear which you want before you ask for quotes.
- Their existing range: what you can choose from without development costs.
- What you can change: color, fabric, formula, labels, packaging.
- Who owns what: your logo and packaging artwork, any custom formula or mold.
- Brands they have produced for, shown on the cards where records exist.
MOQs and sampling
Private label minimums are usually lower than custom production because the factory is running something it already makes. Print on demand has no minimum at all but the highest unit cost. Always sample the exact item with your branding before you sell it.
Domestic or overseas
Domestic private label (custom hats, decorated apparel, print on demand) is quick and good for testing. Overseas private label (skincare in South Korea, apparel in Asia or Peru) costs less per unit at volume and takes longer.
How to use this list
Pick the product first, then the factory. Private label works best when the factory's standard product is already close to what you want, so look at what each card says it makes and the brands it has produced for, and shortlist the ones whose existing range fits. Ask each for its catalog or stock options, sample the closest two or three items, and only then talk about customization. Keep your first order simple: one product, a few colors, your branding. Change more once it sells.

Questions
Q01What is the difference between private label and white label?
White label is a finished product sold as is with your label on it. Private label usually means some customization for you: your colors, formula tweaks, labels and packaging. The terms overlap in practice, so ask what you can change.
Q02Is private label a good way to start a brand?
It is the fastest way to test demand, because you skip development. Many brands start private label and move to custom products once they know what sells.
Q03Where are the factory contacts?
Emails, phone numbers, the person to ask for and our notes on each factory are in The Vault, inside Product Sourcing Secrets.
